PERSONAL: The Reverend Dr. Helen L. Johnson-Ford is a native of Florida having been born in Tallahassee, Florida. She is the daughter of the Reverend Dr. Olivett Johnson and Dr. Judy C. Johnson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She is the mother of two beautiful children, the late Octavius Nikori (Kori) Johnson and Octavia Nicole (Nikki) Johnson-Howell. Married to Dr. Roderick Andrew Lee Ford, Esq.

Pastorate From the inception of her ministry in Mt. Hermon A.M.E. Church 1989, she has served diligently by her pastor’s side as an associate in ministry. In 1992 she was ordained and became the Assistant Pastor (first woman) and Director of New Member’s Ministry, Mt. Hermon A.M.E. Church, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In 1994 she was transferred to Jacksonville, FL to serve as Youth Pastor, Greater Grant Memorial A.M.E. Church.
In 1995 she was appointed Assistant pastor of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, Jacksonville, FL. In 1997 she was appointed her first charge as Pastor of Bethlehem A.M.E. Church, McAlpin, FL (Live Oak). The Lord blessed her there as she expanded the church spiritually by leading the congregation into an intimate relationship with Christ, and physically by constructing a larger edifice. She was also appointed to the pastorate of New Bethel A.M.E. Church in Jasper, FL; Palace A.M.E. Church in Havana, FL; Bethel A.M.E. Church in Monticello, FL.; and Bethelonia A.M.E. Church Tallahassee, FL.; Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church Gainesville, FL
Prior to coming to Mount Olive A.M.E. Tampa, she was the pastor of New Bethel AME Church Altamonte Springs, FL. During her journey in ministry, she has been appointed seven churches throughout Florida, five of those seven churches she was the first woman to serve as pastor. Rev. Johnson-Ford is a powerful woman of God and represents Him as His Ambassador. God has anointed her with a prophetic ministry and the gift of healing. She has ministered throughout the states of New Jersey, Georgia, Alabama, Florida; Internationally, The Bahamas Islands teaching and preaching the Gospel and healing through the glorious power of God. Her life mirrors the Christian way that was ordained and exemplified by Jesus. She strips and unmasks herself in the light of God’s word.
