2021 Leadership Institute and Commitment Service
Greeting Tremendous Tampa District,
Our Leadership Institute and Commitment Service is quickly approaching. Please plan to join us on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at 9 AM.
In preparation for the virtual experience, we would like for you to register in advance for the meeting by clicking on the the link below.
Registration will close at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 14.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting that is unique to you. Please do not share your confirmation, but instead share the above registration link.
We want you to be apart of this engaging and informative Leadership Institute. Each registrant is asked to respond to each of the survey questions for the purpose of evaluating the effectiveness of the Class Leader Ministry. You do not have to sign your name. We ask that you complete the two (2) survey links below by Saturday, January 9.

Hello Sisters and Community Leaders,
“The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc., in Partnership with Wells Fargo, Close the Gap Between Poverty and Prosperity among Under-served Black Women and Girls”
The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. Tampa Bay Area Chapter (NCBW), is proud to launch its’ Signature Economic Empowerment program – Sister-nomic$, in partnership with Wells Fargo. With the support of Wells Fargo, NCBW’s Sister-Nomic$ program will seek to build the financial knowledge and skills of under-served Black women and girls; and help Black-owned small businesses impacted by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, to accelerate their recovery in communities.
Women, Money and Power Series -“How Your Small Business Can PIVOT Covid”
Sunday, December 20 -6:00 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

The first 20 women business owners to complete the pre/post survey along with attending the 1 ½ hour webinar will be eligible for the $25 egift card. In addition, you can earn up to $100.00 if you attend additional financial webinars sponsored by Wells Fargo.
The pre survey and Zoom link will be provided upon registration.
Here are some of the topics the webinar will touch upon:
  • The importance of having a Vision – where do you see your business in 5 years? What are the ways to get there?

Keeping You Informed

Mt Pleasant AME Church, Odessa
On 19 October 2020, one of Mt Pleasant’s buildings – which was intended for educational purposes, was set on fire by an Arsonist. This building has been completely destroyed and must be demolished very soon. The goal is to rebuild and improve Mt Pleasant AME Church Campus. This campus is home to the Old Colored School which was built in 1924. The main building was built on or about 1949.
This was the only school in the area where Colored People were allowed to attend school and attend church. In fact the Baptist and the AME’s were using the same building for church service by alternating Sunday’s. There are two outhouses still on site that were used during that time.
Please help us reach our goal of raising $200,000, by visiting our Go Fund Me page and donating to our cause.

The Magnet window opens November 2 after 5 PM to December 11 at 11:59 PM. Results will be available at the end of January.
Two buckets
  • Choice Application – Lottery – No Guarantee
  • Magnet Application – Middle School academic years overall composite score placed on merit (6th, 7th, 8th) and ranking (competitive with all students who apply)
  • Can apply for 5 individual High Schools at once. However, you can only accept one at a time.
  • IB / Collegiate: Mandatory – Must have taken Algebra 1 or Algebra 1 Honors to apply for these two programs.
